Fall Events at Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line

Fall is my absolutely most favorite time of year!! The crisp, cool weather, the leaves, everything! I just love it. It’s the perfect time to go on a Disney vacation as well, with all of the seasonal events that happen, the crowds aren’t too heavy, the weather isn’t too hot. So here is a list I compiled of things that are happening at Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line this fall.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Every fall WDW puts together a Halloween party at the Magic Kingdom. The Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is for 25 nights starting in mid September and runs through the end of October, Halloween obviously! This is a special ticket event where guests are invited to dress up in their favorite Halloween costumes for this “not so scary” event.

Twice every night is the “Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade.” This is my favorite Disney parade! Around Halloween time, I often find myself watching videos of it on YouTube because I’m a dork, but I’m ok with that! The parade features characters dressed up in their Halloween costume. This year, for the first time, The Sanderson sisters from Disney’s Hocus Pocus will throw an evil Halloween party called the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular.” The show will feature villains like Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, Maleficient and others, along with dancers and special effects. For the finale is the “Happy Hallowishes” fireworks display that features green and orange fireworks.

Trick or treating is of course available throughout the park as well as special meet and greet opportunities with characters and unique Halloween themed treats that are available for purchase throughout the evening. You may also want to catch the barbershop quartet of dead cowboys that serenade in Frontierland.

Party dates are September: 15, 18, 20, 22, 25 and 27; October: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31; November: 1.

Guests can sample tapas-sized tastes of inventive cuisine from more than 25 ethnic and specialty marketplaces during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.  The popular fall festival also features wine tastings, culinary demonstrations, mixology seminars, nightly "Eat to the Beat" concerts and a broad range of premium dining events.  (Chloe Rice, photographer)

20th Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

From September 25th- November 16th, 2015, Epcot will host their 20th Epcot International Food & Wine Festival that has more than 30 global marketplaces around World Showcase. This is where you can taste and sample food and wine from different countries around the globe. This year 4 new food and beverage locations are being placed in Future World. This will be the first year that the festival has expanded outside of World Showcase.

On the walkway toward Future World West is the new Artistry of Wine & Cheese festival area that will feature the Cheese Studio, offering cheese samplers, and the Wine Studio with premium wines on tap.

Near Epcot Character Spot is the new Next Eats are that will debut with Sustainable Chew and Chew Lab marketplaces inspired by ABC’s The Chew. Sustainable Chew will feature 3 dishes, the Chew Lab will show off hot culinary trends like Liquid Nitro Chocolate Almond Truffle with Warm Whisky Carmel.

The largest expansion in Downtown Disney history, Disney Springs will provide even more opportunities for guests to relax and enjoy themselves. When completed in 2016, Disney Springs will double the shopping, dining and entertainment experiences, with an eclectic and contemporary mix from Disney and other noteworthy brands. Drawing inspiration from Florida’s waterfront towns and natural beauty, Disney Springs will include four interconnected neighborhoods: The Landing (opening in early 2015), Marketplace, West Side and Town Center (opening in 2016). The other is a I-4 slip ramp that will have direct access from from I-4 and is connecting to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. These are set to open before the holiday season begins.

Disney Cruise Line will treat guests sailing this fall to a wickedly good time as the Disney ships transform into a ghoulish wonderland during Halloween on the High Seas cruises. For this extra-spooky celebration, each ship boasts its own signature Pumpkin Tree, which magically transforms throughout the cruise with the help of a storytelling caretaker.
