On August 3rd, The VOID announced that they will be opening two new VOID Experience Centers at both Disney Springs at Walt Disney World and Downtown Disney at Disneyland.

During the holiday seasons The VOID will house a virtual reality experience called “Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire” just in time for “The Last Jedi” to come out in December.

This “whole-body, fully immersive VR experience” is a joint venture with Lucasfilm, ILMxLAB, and The VOID.

The VOID describes it’s virtual reality as “full of surprises.” “One second your standing on solid ground, the next your stepping deep into darkness, looking at unimaginable beauty – or fending off danger in another realm.”

“At The VOID, we combine the magic of illusions, advanced technology and virtual reality to create fully immersive social experiences that take guests to new worlds,” said Curtis Hickman, co-founder and chief creative officer at The VOID. “A truly transformative experience is so much more than what you see with your eyes; it’s what you hear, feel, touch, and even smell. Through the power of The VOID, guests who step into Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire won’t just see this world, they’ll know that they are part of this amazing story.”

Disney has not yet released too many details for “Secrets of the Empire” except for a general timeline. More details to come later on where at Disney Springs and Downtown Disney the experience will be located and exact dates.
